Introduction: Postoperative rehabilitation of the anterior cruciate ligament represents a significant challenge for athletes’ safe return to sport, with physiotherapy playing a key role in this process. Objective: To analyze the importance of physiotherapy in the postoperative period in professional soccer athletes. Methods: We conducted an integrative literature review using SciELO, PubMed, and PEDro databases, including studies published between 2020 and 2026. Eight studies were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Physiotherapy was shown to improve muscle strength, range of motion, joint stability, and pain reduction, in addition to supporting a progressive return to sport. Function-based protocols and individualized approaches demonstrated better clinical outcomes. Psychological factors also influenced rehabilitation. Conclusion: Physiotherapy is essential for functional recovery and safe return to sport, and should be conducted in a systematic, individualized, and evidence-based manner.
