Strategic Planning as a Governance and Management Tool in Public Administration

Abstract

Strategic planning as an instrument of governance and management in public administration is increasingly becoming a central theme for the efficiency, transparency and quality of services offered to the population. This article proposes an analysis of the importance of Strategic Planning, as a steering instrument for the public manager, in order to achieve satisfactory results in the governance and management of public affairs, in addition to the effective, efficient and effective reach of public policies. The essential principles for conducting good governance should also be highlighted, such as legitimacy, efficiency, equity, probity, transparency and responsibility. The study is based on theoretical studies and practical examples, highlighting aspects of construction and monitoring of government actions, positively impacting public management.
